We’ve had approval from the Department of Transport to reduce the speed limit to 40km/h at Ocean Beach Road and surrounding areas.
Work to change the speed limit signage will start on Monday 13 December and will be of minimal disruption to traffic. Works are expected to take seven days to complete.
We’re working in collaboration with Searoad Ferries, the Department of Transport (VicRoads) and the Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions to deliver these road safety upgrades, which will see improved traffic safety in the vicinity of the ferry terminal.
Other works included in this project are due to begin in autumn 2022 and include:
- Construction of a roundabout at Point Nepean Road/Hotham Road in Sorrento.
- Upgrades to Hotham Road between The Esplanade and Point Nepean Road
This project will create a gateway to the Sorrento Ferry Terminal and the main shopping precinct. It will link the town centre to the coastline with safe and easy access for residents and visitors.
