Introduction

Planning Scheme Amendment C282morn changes the planning controls affecting commercial land in Crib Point to ensure that any future development respects valued township character. The amendment is based on recommendations from Council’s adopted Crib Point Township Plan Refresh (Mornington Peninsula Shire, 2021) (‘the Plan’) and Western Port Coastal Villages and Surrounding Settlements Strategy (Ethos Urban, 2019) (‘Strategy’).

The amendment applies to commercial land of Crib Point at 182-210 Stony Point Road and 141-149 Disney Street.

The amendment was required to update the design objectives and built form controls in existing Schedule 21 to the Design and Development Overlay (DDO21) to align with Council’s adopted Plan and Strategy.

The amendment also applies the DDO21 to land zoned Commercial 1 (C1Z) at 141-149 Disney Street, consistent with the Strategy’s recommendations.
