Mornington Peninsula Shire’s Community Grants are now open for community groups, organisations and businesses!

Community investment funding allows the Shire to partner with eligible local community groups and not for profit organisations to deliver a range of environmental, economic and community services and benefits.

Community Grants and Subsidies are aligned with three key themes of our Council and Wellbeing Plan 2021 - 2025:

· Theme One: a healthy natural environment and well-planned townships.

· Theme Two: a robust innovative and diverse economy.

· Theme Three: a flourishing healthy and connected community.

We have streamlined funding opportunities and improved the online application process via SmartyGrants.

You were invited to have your say on Mornington Peninsula Shire’s draft Community Investment Funding Policy.

Council’s community investment funding through grants and subsidies seeks to foster and build community involvement, capacity and strength through volunteering, community programs, projects and partnerships.

The draft Policy focuses on improving transparency, accessibility, equity accountability and value to the community for grants, subsidies, sponsorships or trusts.

As part of the Policy review, Council is seeking to align the grants, subsidies and sponsorship funding streams to the three key themes of our Council and Wellbeing Plan 2021 - 2025:

  • Theme One: a healthy natural environment and well-planned townships.
  • Theme Two: a robust innovative and diverse economy.
  • Theme Three: a flourishing healthy and connected community.

There will be a set of program guidelines for each of the three themes – making it easier for applicants to identify appropriate opportunities.

We want to work with our community to help you understand these changes.
