Help shape the Domestic Animal Management Plan for the Peninsula

Pet ownership has many benefits for health and wellbeing. The welfare of pets and protection of the community and the environment from nuisance dogs and cats are also important.

The Shire is developing a new Domestic Animal Management Plan, which all Victorian Councils must produce every four years. The Plan will outline the Shire’s approach to animal management (dogs and cats) and seek to balance the needs of pet owners with the rest of our community.

What's happened so far?

In May 2021 we asked our community to let us know their thoughts around responsible pet ownership. We heard from almost 300 people and this feedback has been used to develop our draft Domestic Animal Management Plan 2021-2025. You can read about these findings in the community consultation summary outcomes.

How can I provide feedback?

Take a look at the draft Plan, then share your feedback by completing the survey or making a submission by 22 September 2021. All responses are confidential.

We want to hear from you. Whether you own a pet or not, we encourage you to provide your feedback on the draft Plan to help us understand what’s important to you. Your input will help shape the final Plan.
