Mornington Peninsula Shire is requesting that Government adopt a more tailored approach to ease restrictions in our region.

This will reduce negative impact on the personal, social and economic hardship faced by our community; keep our residents safe; give our businesses a much needed boost to start operating again and allow our community the freedoms offered to regional Victorians.

Mornington Peninsula Shire is strongly advocating to the State Government to assist our Shire to:

• Not be considered a metropolitan council in the context of the Covid19 restrictions
• Be permitted to implement a more tailored approach to address our unique circumstances in relation to Covid19 restrictions

We will continue to work with the health department to achieve optimal vaccination rates and the best health outcomes for our community in the face of these challenges and work towards a future when these restrictions are rendered unnecessary.
