The Eco Park Active Hub will consist of various recreational elements, including:
- a skate and scooter bowl with pockets, hips, waterfalls and transfers
- refurbished combination play equipment
- scooter path
- accessible carousel and mini trampolines
- swingset
- musical chimes
- picnic tables and bench seating
Further detail of the design is being made available to the public.
On 22 October 2019, Council endorsed an ‘Active Recreation Hub’ as the most appropriate model for a new recreation facility in Mount Martha.
The hub model combines play facilities with additional elements, including beginner skate/scooter components and other accessible recreational and play features.
Following a site selection process, Eco Park, located on Glenisla Drive in Mount Martha, was chosen as the preferred option, with a vision of upgrading the existing reserve to create an Active Recreation Hub.
In late 2019 to early 2020 community feedback was sought and collected on the concept plans for an ‘Active Recreation Hub’ for Eco Park in Mount Martha.
Thank you to all community members, schools and residents that provided their input. The final concept designs were prepared based on this feedback.
These concept designs propose that the Eco Park Active Hub includes a modest skate/scooter bowl and skate/bike/scooter loop, while retaining the car parking, significant vegetation and existing equipment that is in good condition. The natural aesthetic of the park will also be retained.
