Council is reviewing the Community Capital Infrastructure (CommCap) Policy, which guides how community led projects are planned and delivered on Council owned or managed land.

This Policy plays an important role in supporting groups to lead projects that benefit the community. Projects may be funded through any of the Community Investment Funding grants or delivered through other funding sources, supported by Council. As part of this review, we’ll also look at a wider range of project ideas to see how the policy could be updated to include more groups and create the best possible outcomes for the community.

We’ve heard from some community groups that their experience can sometimes feel confusing and challenging and that’s something we want to improve. The review is about removing unnecessary confusion, strengthening guidance and looking for more opportunities to better support our community. Our aim is the make the Policy clearer, fairer and easier to navigate, while maintaining strong governance, safety and risk management.

We want to hear from:

  1. Community groups that have delivered projects through the Community Capital Infrastructure Policy/program.
  2. Community groups that have fresh new ideas for future community led projects that could enhance community facilities, improve public spaces across the Shire and deliver broader community benefit
