The Community Disaster Resilience Plan will be an important tool for increasing community resilience to future disasters and emergencies. It will guide how we support individuals, households and communities to be better prepared.
The Plan will inform how we communicate with and support the community before, during and after an emergency, create more opportunities to partner with existing networks, and foster local partnerships and connections.
The Plan will identify ways that the Shire can help reduce disaster risks and support social and environmental protective factors by:
- leading change and coordinating emergency preparedness efforts through effective networks, partnerships, and advocacy
- engaging, communicating, and educating our community about emergency preparedness
- empowering communities and individuals to take responsibility and support local resilience.
Self-Assessment and Community Survey
Your insights are essential in building a stronger, more resilient community. This activity is designed to help us understand how prepared we all are for emergencies and how we can better support each other.
The activity is divided into three parts:
✅ Self-Assessment – Reflect on your own preparedness and resilience in the face of emergencies.
✅ Demographic Questions – Help us get to know you and ensure our planning reflects the diverse needs of our community.
✅ Community Survey – Share your thoughts on how we can improve disaster preparedness and support across the Shire.
Your feedback will shape the Community Disaster Resilience Plan, ensuring it supports and empowers our community.
