We're calling all community members – dog lovers and everyone else – to fetch your thoughts and share your feedback on our review of leash-free and dog-prohibited areas.

Whether you're a proud pup parent or enjoy peaceful walks in the park, your input will help shape the future of our dog-friendly spaces.

In 2023, we adopted our Dogs in Public Places Policy after listening to over 770 voices from our community.

This Policy provides a consistent approach to assessing areas where dogs can roam leash-free (with their owners present and under effective control) and where they should be on a leash or prohibited.

Now, it's time for a review! We're sniffing out new spots and re-evaluating some current leash-free and dog-prohibited areas. A handy map is available for you to see all the proposed changes.

Managing dogs in public spaces and promoting responsible pet ownership is crucial for maintaining community wellbeing, safety, and protecting our local environment.

At the same time, we understand the joy and benefits of having a furry friend. Our review of these areas helps balance the needs of dog owners with the rest of the community.

We want everyone to have a paw in this process. Your feedback is vital to ensure the review reflects the diverse needs and preferences of our community.
