Unlock Your Reading Potential
Council has secured external funding to install library lockers across the Mornington Peninsula, making it easier for the community to access library services when and where it suits them.
These outdoor lockers allow you to pick up and return library items conveniently, extending access well beyond traditional branch opening hours.
How the library lockers work
The lockers are secure, weather‑protected and designed for outdoor locations. They offer:
- 24/7 access to reserved library items
- A simple return chute for easy drop‑off
- Remote management by library staff for loading, collection and reporting
This flexible technology helps Council take library services further into the community, especially supporting people who face challenges related to distance, mobility or time constraints.
Your feedback matters
We are inviting the community to share feedback to help us:
- Better understand how the lockers are likely to be used
- Estimate how often they may be used and at what times
- Identify preferred locations for future lockers, including other towns or community hubs where improved access to library services is needed
Your feedback will help shape future service delivery and support Council’s reporting and funding applications to the Victorian Government.
